Our paid health care practitioner, scar release training internship
A highly valuable opportunity for healthcare professionals
The Scar Healing Project is proud to offer opportunities for practitioners as well as those suffering from scarring. We are offering 10 paid practitioner internships, with extensive training, continuing education credit, and paid, hands-on experience with scar tissue release therapy.
We invite massage therapists, nurses, physical therapists, and occupational therapists to apply for this program as a unique and rewarding experience to add to your therapeutic repertoire.
Participants will receive:
• Extensive training in the STRAIT Method™
• Training in conducting research
• Training in working with our specified focus group (veterans)
• Continuing education credit for the course and clinic hours
• Payment for service in clinics
• Extensive hands-on experience applying the STRAIT Method™
How the program works
We will conduct 10 days of training over a two-week period.
You will receive eight days of scar release and training in integrated therapeutic stretching.
One day working with veterans
One day conducting research
Following the training, you will attend six two-day clinics (once a month for six months).
These days will consist of three two-hour shifts where eight practitioners will treat you for 90 mins and spend 30 mins conducting surveys (15 pre and 15 post-treatment). The remaining two practitioners will be available to assist the other eight. Practitioners will rotate between treating and assisting during each shift.
Program details
You will pay up-front for the training at a tuition rate of $2,500. The Scar Healing Project will hold tuition, and upon completion of all six clinics, you will receive a full refund. If a practitioner fails to complete all six clinics, the tuition will be remitted to The Scar Healing Project for their training.
You will receive $300 per weekend for clinic participation for a total of $1,800. You will also enjoy 70 continuing education credits for the training and 90 for the clinics.
Program goals
Our goal is to secure the funding to keep the clinics going after the initial six, giving participants the possibility of continuing with the veterans. We hope to open other clinics in the future focusing on scar tissue release therapy for other scars such as those from mastectomies, C-sections, and burns.
