Our clinics
Holistic scar tissue therapy for your recovery
At The Scar Healing Project, we’re building clinics to bring you our innovative STRAIT Method™ for releasing scar tissue. We’re starting with a focus on veterans and plan to extend our services to work with breast cancer survivors and other patients with scarring. Many scar tissue sufferers have long felt under-treated by modern medicine, so we’re taking a new approach to achieve the relief you deserve.
Scar tissue treatment for veterans
The Scar Healing Project offers a series of clinics to address the lack of alternative healthcare practices for the veteran community. Our goal is to empower veterans by resolving psychological and physiological stressors caused by debilitating scar tissue. Our scar tissue release therapy provides relief for limitations that veterans have struggled with for years, allowing them to achieve more independence and higher quality of life.
How we treat scar tissue
Our mission
Our program’s mission is to offer the STRAIT Method™, an innovative method of treatment for scar tissue, for veterans who are not currently receiving treatment.
How we work to help you
We provide respectful care that addresses your individual preferences, needs, and values.
a. Our therapist(s) ensure your needs guide all clinical decisions by using a patient-oriented system. Our comprehensive approach addresses medical and non-medical factors to improve your life in a holistic way.
b. Our program will consist of clinics where 48 veterans (eight veterans per session, three sessions a day for two days) will receive 90-minute therapy sessions once a month for six months.
c. Our opportunities directly address the Physical Health and Wellness pillar. As a volunteer, you have to show commitment to receive the optimal outcome from this therapy. Ideally, this will be a character-building exercise as you create a more compassionate approach to your own healthcare and extend that compassion to other veterans in similar pain.
Are you eligible?
Our initial focus is on wounded warriors, veterans, or active duty/reservists, although we plan to expand to serve breast cancer survivors, burn survivors, and other patients with scarring. We’re excited to build on our initial project and change the lives of everyone who experiences scar-related limitations.
We’ll start by reaching out to veterans in the area where initial training takes place (NY area). However, given the number of veterans in the tri-state area (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania), we will likely serve veterans across multiple states.
We can accommodate warriors with varying injuries from TBI and PTSD to veterans in wheelchairs or prosthetics.
Our proposed timeline is as follows:
Clinic 1: February
Clinic 2: March
Clinic 3: April
Clinic 4: May
Clinic 5: June
Clinic 6: July
